Petite Meller 'Barbaric' by Asaf T. Mann and Napoleon Habeica
Cat Velez - 13th Oct 2015
Petite Meller's breakthrough hit with Baby Love came with a memorable video shot in Kenya featuring dancing schoolchildren and a pair of giraffes. It was the first exposure to Meller's bizarrely cutesy persona for many, but it actually was just the latest in a series of collaborations with the directors Asaf T. Mann and Napoleon Habeica.Â
And now the video for her new single, Barbaric, has the Parisian alt-pop starlet collaborating with the duo again, and following along the same visual language. It's another of Meller's 'voyage videos' - and this time set in Miami. The tight-knit crew, involving stylist Nao Koyabu – who work closely in developing all aspects of Meller’s videos from the original treatment to the casting, the location and the overall look and feel of each piece – hit Miami's retirement communities, ArtDeco facades, and golf courses - with 'cannibalistic' dance moves!Â
