'Seven Seven' by Georgina Ferguson & Eduarda Lima
David Knight - 7th July 2015
Ten years ago today, four bombs were detonated in central London, on the Underground and a bus, that killed 52 people and injured hundreds more. Georgina Ferguson was on a tube train at King's Cross station that was bombed on 7/7 in which 26 people were killed.
Georgina was helped out of Kings Cross station by a stranger, who she has never met again. She has now made this animation with Eduarda Lima that explains what happened to her on a terrible day, and pays tribute to a stranger's kindness.
And it should be seen, just to see how the ordinariness of the daily experience of millions of people can be changed for ever in an instant. That really is terrifying. But at a moment of terror there's also courage and dignity.
As Georgina says: "For me, this film is about more than just personal catharsis and sharing an experience. Its about an act of remembrance, tribute and gratitude..."
