Courtney Barnett 'Kim's Caravan' by Bec Kingma
Cat Velez - 23rd Apr 2015
Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has released this video for the track Kim's Caravan from her debut full-length Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, directed by Bec Kingma, whose work includes the award-winning short film Silent Night.
It's a melancholic affair, offering a pessimistic view on the world in the face of ecological crisis, and has Barnett revisiting an Australian seaside town where she used to go on holiday as a child. But the scenery is cast in shadow, and the atmosphere is downtrodden and heavy. Perhaps the town has lost its former glory... more likely though, it's Barnett who has changed.
