Blood Orange 'Chamakay' by Adam Bainbridge
This gorgeous travelogue, shot in Guyana by Adam Bainbridge (aka Kindness) for Blood Orange's wistful, ultra-mellow track, Chamakay – the first single from the album Cupid Deluxe, with backing vocals from Chairlift's Caroline Polachek – is best described by Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, himself:
"I decided to visit Georgetown, Guyana for the first time, the town where my mother is from," he says. "She herself has not been back for 30 years, three years before I was born. I tracked down family members, including my 92 year old grandfather, who I had never met before. In this video you will see our first ever meeting."
