'A Year with Royal Blood' by Libby Burke Wilde
David Knight - 8th Jan 2015
2014 was a triumphant year for primal rock duo Royal Blood, and Libby Burke Wilde was on hand at crucial times to chart their amazing rise - on the road, in New York, in the studio, and some blistering shows up and down the UK.
This was just months after she directed their first music video, and now she's distilled her year with Royal Blood into a three minute micro-doc, complete with interviews with the band, and their co-producer Tom Dalgety.
LIBBY BURKE WILDE:
"I have been lucky enough to follow these guys round for one of the most spectacular years. We first met in Sheffield where the Little Monster video was made with a crowd of just 200, and within this year I have filmed them support the Arctic Monkeys in front of tens of thousands of people and watch them record a number one album. It has been an absolute treat to be able to film this sharp rise into the spotlight.
"Putting a year’s worth of footage into a three minute EPK was no easy task. I would like to thank most sincerely Tom Mooring (editor) for all his time on this piece. And many many thanks to Giles Smith, Matt Maude, James Rhodes, Ed Smalley, Harvey Ascott, Dan Gill and everyone else I met along the way this past year."
