Freddie Dickson 'News' by Ozzie Pullin
Singer-songwriter Freddie Dickson cuts an obsessed, angst-ridden figure in Ozzie Pullin's video for News, performing the song while examining photos, and TV screens in his brick-walled bunker.
Nicely shot by James Blann, and intercut with brief flashes of VHS-shot footage of the outside world - Ozzie edited this as well as directed - it has a certain Fincher-esque quality...
OZZIE PULLIN:
"I wanted to experiment visually with the idea of mental entrapment intercut around a strong performance of Freddie. The VHS footage acts as flashback memories relating to the images around him, implying but not stating that Freddie is trapped within his own head and all he needs to do is take a long hard look at himself to break free."
