Joe Connor's tongue-in-cheek performance promo for Blitz Kids' Perfect sees the filmmaker send-up tired video cliches - aided by a misbehaving band and a frustrated director...

JOE CONNOR:

"It was a tricky one trying to create the perfect video for a song called Perfect.  I was raking myself over hot coals for days trying to crack the nut and get the right idea or concept and the funny thing about being a director is that the more you do that, the more you seem to resort to visual cliches, music video staples.  I found myself saying ‘maybe it’s X or maybe its Y or Z…?’.  

"The funny thing with music videos is that the process can almost be as interesting as the video itself, and so the more I thought about it the more it felt natural to do just that.  Make a music video about a director trying to make the perfect music video for a song called Perfect.  

"It’s got spills, chills, thrills and some nifty in-camera techniques all hinged around a wicked performance from the boys…..and a director that looks suspiciously like Andrea Pirlo..."
