Acclaimed music history lesson creators J. Willgoose and Wrigglesworth - aka London-based duo Public Service Broadcasting - join forces with animator Assaf Hayut for this comelling promo to their track Everest.
The concept for the monochrome video was loosely based on real-life mountaineers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine who scaled Everest in 1924.

"The tight schedule didn't leave too much time to kick back and visit the ol' sketchbook, I had to think on my feet and come-up with a concept pretty quick. I really felt that I understood the band's direction and what they were after, and this time I was right.
"The band's interest in archive material and history made me research old expeditions to Everest. The concept for the video is based on a real events that took place on the second expedition to Mt. Everest, in 1924. On that expedition two mountaineers; George Mallory and Andrew Irvine lost audio and visual communication with base camp just before reaching the peak because of a storm. They never returned.
"Until today no one knows if they were the first mountaineers to ever reach the peak. I was inspired by this story and reading on the characters gave me lots of ideas of how will they behave and what will happen in the video. Working with the label's representative, Steve Dix, was a fantastic experience. They were not pushy at all and allowed the space to create but gave me few pointers along the way that really improved the video. They were patient and punctual and fair with payments- a great collaboration.”
