Following her Grammy-nominated album Traveller, Anoushka Shankar returns with a new single Traces of You and her first music video, directed by Thomas Napper - making a rare return to directing music videos - and her husband Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride And Prejudice) as associate director and producer.

Thomas’ starting point for the video was the geographical “separate-ness” of the artists - Anoushka was in Avignon, Norah Jones in Brooklyn, Nitin Sawhney in Brixton and Tanmoy Bose in Kolkata. So, armed with Iphones, a Canon 5D and an unfeasibly large chandelier crystal Thomas travelled the world to make the Traces Of You video.

Thomas Napper: “Making 'Traces' has restored my faith in making music videos. I always truly loved musicianship, which I remembered while I was watching these various amazing hands, working across fretboards and drum skins.

"It was a privilege to make this film, Anoushka's first video, in such an informal way. To travel that broadly and have the freedom to 'make' images again, with the extended Shankar family and friends was like a dream come true.”
