Sing J Lee unfolds the tale of a young girl in reflective mood wandering around the streets of New York City in his promo for Chvrches' The Mother We Share. He fuses the narrative with the UK trio's performance of the insanely hooky The Mother We Share, with some neat VFX overlays on the endlessly fascinating cityscape. 

Sing J Lee: "Chvrches have this wonderful way of interweaving great syncopated upbeat melodies with complex and sometimes darker, introspective lyrics. This instantly inspired the tone of where I wanted to take the narrative.  

"TMWS to me, was an elegy for a female character, perhaps an old God who had lost her sense of kinship with what she saw around her. Irrespective of the supernatural or fantastical elements, I think to some degree, we can all relate to that feeling of isolation or loneliness amongst the great yawn of the physical world and the ever-changing digital sprawl - our constant the fight to leave a mark or be a part of it. 

"This job was a bullet train from start to finish, New York didn't disappoint and we met some amazing characters. The band were brilliant to work with; very charming, so easygoing and really gave us free rein to push where we took the idea, we even had time to try out some crazy in-camera glass reflections on the band performance, giving us a multi-exposure kind of shot.

"Teaming up with our great in-house post department, we welcomed Space Digital into the fold to help build our big vfx third act. 

"I seriously owe it to Andy Galloway and Ian McLaughlin at Chief and Simon Blackledge at Space for all the extra time, late nights and weekends required to finish the great work they did."
