One Direction 'Best Song Ever' by Ben Winston
One Direction premiered the video for new single Best Song Ever across VEVO on July 22nd - breaking the record for the number of views racked up by a music video in its first 24 hours - 12.3 million (beating the 10.7m who watched Miley Cyrus's We Can't Stop). But it's also more than a video, starting with a comedy sketch about 1D's upcoming new movie, meeting a bunch of Hollywood types, impressively by the boys themselves... - and co-written by comedian James Corden with director Ben Winston.
Shot in Miami, the promo displays the bands’ acting skills with Niall as 'Harvey, the Studio Exec', Harry as 'Marcel, the Marketing Guy', Liam as 'Leeroy, the Choreographer', Louis as 'Jonny, the Studio Exec' and Zayn as 'Veronica, the Sexy Assistant'.
As such the entertaining Best Song Ever promo boasts some very convincing prosthetics, and when the sketch ends and the boys get going, is intercut with live concert footage from around the globe...
"It's great that the video has been so popular. We are really delighted. It is always brilliant working with One Direction".
