Igor Volk ‘Labyrinth’ by Dawid Krepski
Promo News - 30th May 2013
Dawid Krepski has created a very ambitious epic adventure for Igor Volk’s Labyrinth, where Game of Thrones meets sexy Seventies sci-fi.
Dawid says: “The whole labyrinth concept came to me in Amsterdam, where I first heard the song. I was immediately struck with a vision of a journey. After a while it morphed into this massive world of legends and mythology.
“Being a sucker for 70-80′s fantasy/sci-fi movies, I wanted to try to catch that vibe on every level. Through framing, set design and even the editing. Some of you might notice references to video games and metal bands’ album covers – that is not coincidental either.
“The video was shot in six days, in various locations, but most of them in Poland’s southern region Slask, where we found some incredible post industrial buildings. We used dioramas, green screens, backdrop projections and 3D renders. The whole pre production process was quite a ride and took over a month – scouting, building sets, coming up with all the props, creating matte paintings.
“I wanted the viewers to feel that the video could be a trailer for a full feature film, to stimulate their imagination. I hope one day I will be able to go back to this world and tell another story.”
