Canadian astronaut Commander Chris Hadfield has spent the last eight months on the International Space Station orbiting Earth, and in that time has become a social media star with his series of ‘spaceship life’ videos. And now, on the eve of his return home, comes his crowning glory.

He has recorded a revised version of David Bowie’s Space Oddity on board the Space Station, and then created this. Quite simply, the first music video shot in outer space!

An absolutely amazing, momentous and wonderful thing.
