The Ramona Flowers ‘Lust and Lies’ by Blake Claridge
Blake Claridge heads out to the LA desert for the promo to Ramona Flowers’ Lust and Lies, the perfect setting for their atmospheric, widescreen ballad.
Powered by an inventive narrative – a woman ties her lover to the back of her car and drags him across the sandy terrain – the video climaxes with one almighty twist.
Blake Claridge:
“It was the first video that I had done where the band weren’t on set, which was strange but was great that they were so on board with the idea and I was loving being involved with our amazing actors, Jack and Drew.
“We started the day in the early hours as it chucked it down with rain, driving out to the desert. It was one of those days where if something could go wrong, it would! We made our way to what was meant to be a dried-up lake – but when it rains, it’s just a lake.
“It was a good job that I was in good hands with Martim Vian our non stop DP and his amazing crew. It was a fantastic experience and we managed to achieve all we set out to do despite the over cast weather and threat of downpour, even though we were in the desert!”
