A debut video for an unsigned artist, Stephen had a tiny budget, but has produced something simple and sleek - and a significant contrast from his twisted Doll's house video for Velvet Code. It still features some top choreography though, and styling is spot on. "The song is all about ending a destructive relationship, and stepping out into the spotlight. And in keeping with the message of the song, the video is a minimalist play on Darkness and Light. I was itching to work modern dance into one of my promos, so I decided to visually illustrate the song's meaning through three dancers. The location was the basement of Victoria House in Bloomsbury Square, London, and I love how the space looks like a vast, eerie gallery. My dancers initially appear as stoic, moving statues within, before the two lead performers become engaged in a haunting, modern ballet that was choreographed by Dare Cullen-Jones. "We shot the promo through revolving, warped perspex, so all the rushes had a dreamy, almost underwater edge that I hope gives the video a look all of its own . . . And I also wanted to treat the video like I treat my fashion films - and ensured all of the styling showcased up and coming young designers." Angie Shine Director: Stephen Lally DoP: Charlie Herranz Key Hair: Nina Butkovich-Budden using Oribe Make-Up Artist: Issidora using Cosmetics a La Carte Choreography: Dare Cullen-Jones Art Director: Stephen Lally Editor: Marcus Daborn Cast: Jade "Flossy" Sullivan @ Profile Models, Leah Debrincat & Nina Davies Producer: Rosie Wells Post Producer: Lisa Vaughan @ UNIT, London Grader: Simon Astbury @ UNIT, London Stylist: Claudia Benhke Fashion Credits: Jeffrey Michael, Yulia Kondranina, Victoria Hunt, Lyudmila Lane, Xianfen Gu, Rajinder Johal & Imogen Belfield http://vimeo.com/52913788
