Wande Coal 'Go Low' by Mr Moe Musa
David Knight - 3rd Sept 2012
"When I was contacted to shoot this video I was really eager to create something special for the artist," explains Moe Musa. "After reviewing various videos from the Afrobeats scene I realized that there were very similar generic aspects used so I wanted flip it on its head and try something new." Moe used his own childhood experiences of monsoon rains in Africa - together with his passion for high framerate filming - to be the basis of the promo. The indoor rain was achieved by using rain stands, hidden from shot by mounting on the sides of the lighting truss. "Due to the amount of rain needed for this effect we hired in a fire engine from the Pinewood lot by our special effects expert," Moe reveals. "The video was shot on Red Epic throughout on 300fps to capture the effect of the rain on the performance." Keith Long of East End Studios adds that it was a memorable day of shooting at the studios, based in Leyton, not far from the Olympic Park. "It's not every day we get to do a full monsoon rain shoot indoors," says Keith. "We had to literally stop traffic for this one to refill the fire engine." http://www.youtube.com/watchv=wnZGGz_HPmo
