'Human Beings' by Jonathan Entwhistle

David Knight - 2nd Mar 2012

Shot in West Yorkshire on Marsden Moor, and the hills around Manchester, its beautifully photographed by Justin Brown who shot this on film - Kodak 35mm, on an Arri, to be exact - and features the music from Ty Segall, Veronica Falls and Spectrals. "The first six minutes were kind of designed as a mad music vid, a weird house party turning weirder," says Jonathan. "The starting point was to try to get an Americana aesthetic with a British landscape, and that then became this odd, trippy costume drama. Lion King & Lord of The Rings meets Skins..." He's already made acclaimed shorts Cotton Stones, The Good North and Mulligatawny, and this - co-produced by Stink and Blindeye Films - looks set to be his biggest so far: it's notched over 30K views in it's first three days on Vimeo this week...
