Nand 'Dead Ray' by Al Mackay

Nand 'Dead Ray' by Al Mackay

David Knight - 17th Aug 2011

Clive 'Deadray' Collins is The Red Baron of competitive gaming. A prodigy of the Sinclair era who fought his way through the trenches of bedroom battlefields to emerge triumphant as the champion of gamers. He holds his most proud record, one million points in one session of the formidably treacherous game 'Deadray'.

A prodigy of the Sinclair era who fought his way through the trenches of bedroom battlefields to emerge triumphant as the champion of gamers. He holds his most proud record, one million points in one session of the formidably treacherous game 'Deadray'. None had touched his record in the past 30 years. All those who challenged his reign were cast aside with mirth and ruthless contempt. That is until August 2011 where his indomitable position is threatened by a new pretender to the throne... "Gernot does the sound for my shorts, which are made through Steel Mill Pictures [Paul Andrew Williams' company]," Al explains. "So I made him a (very much a no budget) promo as a thank you. Gernot played me his EP and it made me think of old arcade games, then I thought the great documentary King of Kong would be a good premise for a music vid. I thought it would be nice to do a big nod to it with a very English feel. I needed some one who had enough charisma to play the English version of Billy Mitchell, and Paul plays a good comedy villain!" http://youtu.be/OoAZ7Lby1qs
