Primal Device’s Evacuate by Dan Gibling
David Knight - 11th Jan 2011
Dan's previous was an impressive beach-set vid for Gray Hulbert. He shot this one this in Shoreditch Magistrates Court on a shoestring, calling in all manner of favours from mates (Dan usually works as a 2nd AD). "Many of the visuals are derived from the lyrics of the song, with the notion of taking 'all our senses, and turning them into nightmares' forming the basis of the idea," says Dan.<br/>"I was very keen to explore cinematography that would enhance the state of mind of our hero, so the use of the bodyrig and lensbaby was adopted. The gas-masked men were a visual play on the notion of evacuation - I wanted the video to feel more psychologically unsettling than horror show."
