Andreya Triana’s A Town Called Obsolete by Keith McCarthy
David Knight - 28th June 2010
Forget Avatar, here's an old-school stereoscopic 3D fest - and the second video in quick succession on Promo featuring a ViewMaster - for singer Andreya Triana, incongruously performing at an old-fashioned family knees-up.
It was directed (and produced) by Keith McCarthy, who was one of the winners of the BBC New Music Shorts award last year for his treatment of Florence's Dog Days Are Over, and shot in Kilburn's Working Men's Club.
"This whole production was pulled together on whiff of a budget and shot on two Canon 7Ds," says Keith "The props were the catering, the extras were the club's staff. The frozen sausage rolls were accidentally uncooked, and there was only one case of food poisoning."
