For the follow-up to the worldwide chart-straddling Fireflies single, Owl City were only too happy to work with Endeavor Media again on Vanilla Twilight.

Shot in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, producer Danny Yourd had this to say about the extraordinary promo:

"The lighthouse is in Marblehead, Ohio on Lake Erie. The lake was frozen for about 100 yards out which allowed us to walk out onto the ice and get some beautiful shots that wouldn't have been accessible otherwise. Most of the talent are friends and family.

"The skies were created from scratch in a 3D program - so all of the skies were replaced. We had to push the shoot back a week because we had a blizzard where it snowed two or three feet. But because of that, we had snow covered landscapes everywhere, which aided tremendously to the video!

"That is Shaq O'Neill [the basketball player] in the video - he made a special cameo because Owl City singer Adam loves him (not sure why)".
