Lily Allen’s 22 by Jake Scott
David Knight - 13th July 2009
More sharp social commentary from Lily Allen, but instead of her usual knowing delivery, she gets a lot closer to being the character she's singing about in Jake Scott's video for 22.
In fact, there are two Lilys here, one of whom is slightly worse for wear and clearly getting on a bit. She's nearly 30. Jake, in his first video in absolutely ages, not only uncorks her thesp potential, he provides an astute (and beautifully shot) platform for some of the bigger issues surrounding the subject matter.
Self-delusion when encountering one's own reflection is just one of them. Surely worth at least a feature on Woman's Hour.
