Phoenix’s 1901 by Bogstandard

Perfectly aligned projections have turned a performance by French pop connoisseurs Phoenix into something special (and a bit Kraftwerk) in this new video by Dylan Byrne and Ben Strebel aka Bogstandard.
It was especially made for Dazed Digital, and there's also an interview with Bogstandard on Dazed together with the vid.
Ben Strebel of Bogstandard on making the video for Phoenix's 1901
"The job started initially as a commission by Dazed Digital to film/document Phoenix's 1901 being played live during their Hoxton Bar and Kitchen gig. We decided to do something slightly more involved, that was practical and achievable in a one hour pre-gig shoot slot and restricted budget.
"Our concept was to visually explore a way we could capture the true energy and charm of the song. Our aim was to use graphics to deconstruct the song, break it down to its most basic form and present the band in a strong visual light.
"The practical challenge was making sure the visuals aligned perfectly with each band member on the night.
"We went for a single live graphic projection onto the band using minimal clean graphics to create a look that reflected the song. This way we could plan a lot of it in the studio before even getting to the venue. This involved a lot of calculation and pre?visualisation to ensure we got it right on the day."
