Adolescence is an emotional time. The Virgins understand this, and so does Ace Norton: he's dissected the whole business of teenage sexual activity for what it is - a huge, appalling fiasco of trauma, pain and cruelty.

The fact Ace's subjects have to fake their freeze-frames just emphasises their anguish. Which is, of course, most entertaining.
