Of Montreal’s Id Engager by Marc Reisbig & Hanne Berkaak

David Knight - 4th Nov 2008

Marc Reisbig (of animation team SSSR) and Hanne Berkaak have taken the game of Consequences as the inspiration for their new video for Of Montreal, and they sensibly allowed things to take their course.

[pay]"All the drawings are 2D and everything else is stop frame animation, animated by Matt Cooper," explains Hanne, a freelance illustrator and animator. "This technique gives the film a very hand-made feeling. When our hands come into the picture we had to move and draw in slow motion as Matt photographed each frame. "The bird is made out of plasticine and we used cotton wool and sparkly paper for some of the effects. It was about being creative and adding things you would like to see. I always wanted to draw an alien in a chef suit and now I finally found a chance to do it. And I got to animate him dancing to this amazing song. It's good to get to make your ideas and get them out of your head." http://uk.youtube.com/watchv=VHFUXH4PP5c[/youtube]
