Wu-Tang Clan's The Heart Gently Weeps by Max & Dania
David Knight - 1st May 2008
Max & Dania are veteran urban video makers in the UK who have not done that much shooting in the US - arguably not nearly enough. But they have certainly bucked that trend here with this comeback presentation for hip-hop legends the Wu-Tang Clan.

But they have certainly bucked that trend here with this comeback presentation for hip-hop legends the Wu-Tang Clan. The video for The Heart Gently Weeps continues the Oriental-themed visual motif present throughout the Wu-Tang's career: band member RZA, fresh from his role in Ridley Scott's American Gangster, features as an undercover cop on the trail of a Japanese drug lord, while traditional Japanese geisha girls perform the track's interesting interpolation of The Beatles' While My Guitar Gently Weeps in a deserted theatre. Shot on the Warner Bros soundstage in Los Angeles it's an ambitious blend of the hardboiled and the dreamy - just like the track.
