Waley Wang is a Chinese-American filmmaker who lives in Brooklyn, NY. His directing focuses on stylized, poppy visuals with a heart, and themes and performance sets with a range of dark drama, absurd comedy, metaphysical romance, and many more. His collaborators have included South Korea-based artist The Black Skirts, LA-based artists Christian Lee Hutson & Phoebe Bridgers, Radiohead Creative Director Dilly Gent, Taiwanese artist Crowd Lu, and LA-based Ark Patrol. His work in music videos have been featured on Pitchfork, Nowness, Director's Notes, and screened at the BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival.
He also enjoys searching for the ever-obscuring experiences and uncultivated identity of being Chinese American, as well as the uncaptured humanity of being a young millennial / old gen z-er.
