Beautiful to look at, heart-meltingly charming and exciting - but a real piece of work in every other way.&nbsp;Maisie laments this archetype as she runs around an empty theatre with a guy who just won't stop getting between her and the camera, pushing her aside for a moment in the spotlight.“We need hugs, not a pretty babe that doesn’t care about our feelings!" declares Keshtmand. "This is a real telling off to those trashy lovers and wannabe rockstar heartbreakers."&nbsp;Fashionable, theatrical and fun, it's a brilliant video with plenty of attitude to boot.

Aidan Zamiri and&nbsp;Yuma Burgess co-direct the mesmerising visual for FKA Twigs' latest release.&nbsp;In the video, we see the artist perform in front of camera, as the image is perpetually distorted and warped through an AI algorithm, making full use of Burgess' speciality as a visual artist.&nbsp;The resulting effect is a trip head-first into the uncanny valley, as different details of Twigs' face and body distort into something otherworldly and surreal, creating a haunting yet strangely engrossing effect.&nbsp;

Mila Van Der Linden and&nbsp;Stefania Lucchesi co-direct a vibrant performance promo for Mila V.&nbsp;The second self-directed video from the Slow Burn EP is a natural progression from the first video, S.N.C.L, which combines fast-paced visuals with sci-fi elements.&nbsp;Coruscating lights and abstract textures create an enigmatic aesthetic, which dissolves into an all-out hypnotic trip.&nbsp;Anchored by a commanding performance and a sense of mystery, it's a great showcase of both the artist and director/creative team.&nbsp;

Ian Robertson returns with his first music video in ages - in fact, his first made in the UK in eight years&nbsp;-&nbsp;for electronic music duo Honne and their&nbsp;new track What Would You Do?The concept explores a suburban love story between two young characters, played brilliantly by&nbsp;Daniel Ooko and&nbsp;Rebecca Louise.&nbsp;Egged on by a vision of featured artist&nbsp;Pink Sweat$ - reflected in a puddle -&nbsp;Ooko gains the courage to approach his neighbour, impressing her with his slick yet understated dance moves. They take a drive through the town - well, at least they would do, if he could get the car in gear.[imgtoken data:1]And they almost make out, until a guitar-wielding leather jacket-clad bully persuades Louise to leave with him, ending in a climactic face off - all while Honne's James and Andy cameo as neighbourhood workers, quietly observing proceedings."Honne came to me with an idea about a young boy that takes revenge on his bullies," reveals Robertson.&nbsp;"I thought the lyrics were screaming out for a love story, so I took the elements of Honne's idea and rejigged it into a weird offbeat love triangle!"&nbsp;It's absurd fun, in the same vein as Robertson's lighthearted work for giant dance hits like <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2013/02/28/duke-dumont-ft-ame-need-u-100-ian-robertson/17112" target="_blank">Duke Dumont's Need U (100%)</a>&nbsp;a few years ago. An unconventional yet charming concept that perfectly fits the track.&nbsp;

Joshua Trigg directs a&nbsp;gangster thriller with a twist&nbsp;for British rockers The Dust Coda.&nbsp;The eponymous Jimmy, a&nbsp;scar-faced ruffian (played by Naoufal Ousellam) is on his way to an illegal dice game on an abandoned ship - where he enjoys an unusual winning streak. When the other gangsters realise he is using loaded dice, not suprisingly tensions run high.The dice game scenario is intercut with a raucous performance of Jimmy 2 Times by the band, and the cinematic video is anchored by striking cinematography, care of DoP&nbsp;James Chegwyn, whose gritty textures and frantic camera moves add a dynamic flair to the concept.&nbsp;

Florence Kosky brings the transcendent style she recently employed with Labrinth to play with Raissa, who embarks on an epic, wondrous journey into a magical unknown in the video for Crowded.&nbsp;With the live action footage of Raissa wandering into the great outdoors at night touched by hyperreal colour and glowing lights, her journey into fantasy is completed by the switch to full 2D animation. That is the work of&nbsp;Anthony Scheppard -&nbsp;a master of animated psychedelia, who employs his style to fulfill Kosky's vision. It's a notable piece to showcase the young artist, signed to Mark Ronson's Zelig label, and this up-and-coming director.

Will Hooper presents a quickfire tapestry of chaotic performance setups, in his promo for Awa's Feelings.&nbsp;Intercutting a mix of contemporary and lo-fi aesthetics, the video charges forward with a sense of no-nonsense, unabashed energy.The performances from both Awa and&nbsp;Scofield are top-notch, and DoPs Jaime Ackroyd and Stefan Yap (who shared shooting responsibilities across the two-day shoot) create a strikingly vibrant world which fits together seamlessly.&nbsp;"The symbols of the&nbsp;Wizard of Oz-style floating house, the storm, the roses and the planet Venus cut against Awa’s performance, representing the chaotic energy that is synonymous with love," explains Will Hooper -&nbsp; who i nominated for Best New Director at this week's UKMVAs.&nbsp;"Feelings of uncertainty and turbulence sparring with desire and ecstasy - it’s that tumble dryer of emotions that makes up the fabric of this video."

And even more disconcertingly, breaks into a cute smile.&nbsp;Matthew Josephs, Twigs' regular stylist, pulled together the fantastic looks in true magpie fashion when the world was just emerging from&nbsp;lockdown - as <a href="https://theface.com/style/fka-twigs-fashion-stylist-matthew-josephs-645ar-sum-bout-u" target="_blank">he explained to&nbsp;The Face</a>.Then Zamiri framed the encounter&nbsp;- Twigs was shot in London, and 645AR filmed in the US - in a computer interface he designed with Weir Prior, that you will appreciate once you stop gawping at Twigs. Which is going to take a while.
