Massive Attack&rsquo;s haunting new video for&nbsp;Come Near Me sees&nbsp;Kosovar actress Arta Dobroshi and British actor Jonathan Aris in an&nbsp;ill-fated stand-off.Written and directed by Ed Morris, this has the sense of mystery and inevitable doom that&#39;s completely characteristic of the band and their videos. The tension is there from the start, as the&nbsp;couple face each other, a few feet apart, within their home. Then as he advances upon her, she retreats. And this action simply goes on, from intereior to the streets outside, thorugh tunnels, woods and finally to the sea. And we know what will happen next.Shot in a single day in various locations around&nbsp;Hove on the English south coast, afficianodos of Massive Attack&#39;s body of work will note the references to the band&#39;s history, most obviously in the audio snippet of Unfinished Sympathy in arguably the video&#39;s most sinister sequence. And there are also echoes in the concept of one of the classic Massive videos of the 1990s, Walter Stern&#39;s video for <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbe3CQamF8k" target="_blank">Angel</a>.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Post on the video took place at The Mill in London, and as 2D Artist Nina Mosand explains,&nbsp;&ldquo;This was a lovely project to work on, as Ed [Morris]&nbsp;has an eye for beautiful framing.&nbsp;The edit of the promo has a beat and suspense that makes you want to find out what&#39;s going to happen next. All of the effects the team added were seamless and hidden, with the intent of maintaining this element of suspense and tension.&quot;The biggest shot we worked on was the overhead road-crossing scene. We had to ensure our two hero characters appeared to be in the middle of the road by timing the cars from different plates so that that it felt as though they were actually there, making the cars drive behind them and matching the movement of her skirt to that of the cars.&quot;

Pop video specialist&nbsp;Carly Cussen has put together this colourful performance video for KDA&#39;s Turn The Music Louder, featuring Tinie Tempah and Katy B.&nbsp;With a circular track revolving around four retro stage setups, the&nbsp;clip takes us through 30&#39;s Mondrian,&nbsp;60&#39;s and 70&#39;s glamour, and zany&nbsp;80&#39;s&nbsp;graphics, providing colourful backdrops for the&nbsp;heavily styled&nbsp;artists and performers (just check out the&nbsp;glam squad in the credits!)&nbsp;to do their thing. &nbsp;

Ollie Wolf has delivered this clever deconstruction of music video cliché shot in the&nbsp;small port town of&nbsp;Cadaques, Spain for&nbsp;Josef Salvat&#39;s song&nbsp;Open Season.Josef Salvat wanted a&nbsp;video with a&nbsp;French New Wave feel, leading Wolf derive inspiration&nbsp;from Godard film trailers&#39; wit and self&nbsp;awareness, which ended up influencing&nbsp;the final concept. After listening to the track,&nbsp;Wolf felt it was&nbsp;talking about the madness of being in the industry - so the idea of&nbsp;putting a mirror up to it and constructing a video from the tropes of music videos seemed like the best.Ollie reflects, &ldquo;It was great to make and I really rate the freedom that Josef, Laura and the guys at&nbsp;Sony let me have on this. I really think that comes across on screen.&rdquo;

Hot on the heels of his marvellous and ingenious Praxinoscope-inspired video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2009/04/28/moray-mclaren%e2%80%99s-we-got-time-by-david-wilson/">Moray McLaren's We Got Time</a>, David Wilson has come up with another awe-inspiring and seriously unlikely animated video, this time for London outfit We Have Band.
You Came Out, created in collaboration with Weiden &amp; Kennedy creatives Fabian Berglund and Ida Gronblom, who conceived the original idea, is a new take on the performance video. The three members of the band are always in shot, but more or less doing nothing - it's the facepaint they're wearing that's moving, telling the story of a night of debauchery and excess.
It took three days and over 6,000 frames of footage for David to animate his beautiful facepaint designs on the band, relying on their infinite, good-natured patience - they basically had to lie still for three days. Plus he had the help of highly regarded mother-and-daughter animation team Joanna and Katie Anne Harrison. Joanna learned her trade on such classics as The Snowman and When The Wind Blows, while Katie is an up-and-coming star of the design and illustration world.
Like his Moray vid, it's dazzling, it's mesmerizing, and you've really got to wonder how the hell he does this stuff - but it definitely involves mirrors. What is he going to come up with next
