"On first listening to the track I knew it needed to be youthful and effervescent," says Sasha. "We were careful to avoid the unrealistic house party elements of American teenage films, drawing instead on my own experiences of growing up in London's leafy suburbs. Most of the kids who appear in the video were real fans, they were a joy to work with, and played a big part in making the piece that much more natural and authentic."

The video for indie band The Colour Movement's Roots is directed by Sasha Nathwani of recently launched boutique production company <a href="http://wearefamilia.com/" target="_blank">FAMILIA</a>, and produced through Saloon Films. 
Filmed in Black Park as well as various locations in Dalston, Sasha's Colour Movement promo is a throwback to the earthy rock videos from the American grunge scene of the mid 90s.

The Colour Movement 'Roots' by Sasha Nathwani

It was shot principally using a hand held &#39;flip&#39; rig which was developed by Harvey and a friend, allowing a Canon 5D to spin on a horizontal and vertical axis, filmed at The Performance Space, an artist-led, non-profit organisation that provides studio and project space in Hackney Wick.&quot;The idea from the video was born out of the no-nonsense, killer live performances which the band are rapidly becoming known for, so a high octane performance piece was always going to be the focus of their first video,&quot; says producer Chris Cable. &quot;Harvey wanted the brazen, loud and in your face essence of the band to be reflected in the video, together with the slightly surreal narrative and gothic, Victoriana design.&quot;We&#39;re really proud of the video, it was the culmination of a lot of hard work, energy and generosity from all those involved who worked solely on goodwill and local Hackney pizza!&quot;
