Ever wonder what your lost socks get up to when they go missing Vicky Simmons puts forward one possible theory in her promo for Shields' Mezzanine.
In Vicky's charming and amusing promo for the Newcastle five-piece, her sock-puppets form a band, fall in love, cheat, have a domestic, get mauled by a cat and end up in therapy.
"When I listened to the track I found it sunny and upbeat," says Vicky. "It's not your typical song about relationship drama, which is why I wanted the video to follow in its footsteps..."

"On first listening to the track I knew it needed to be youthful and effervescent," says Sasha. "We were careful to avoid the unrealistic house party elements of American teenage films, drawing instead on my own experiences of growing up in London's leafy suburbs. Most of the kids who appear in the video were real fans, they were a joy to work with, and played a big part in making the piece that much more natural and authentic."

The video for indie band The Colour Movement's Roots is directed by Sasha Nathwani of recently launched boutique production company <a href="http://wearefamilia.com/" target="_blank">FAMILIA</a>, and produced through Saloon Films. 
Filmed in Black Park as well as various locations in Dalston, Sasha's Colour Movement promo is a throwback to the earthy rock videos from the American grunge scene of the mid 90s.

There&#39;s nothing strange about the attraction of the girl in Ben Strebel&#39;s video for Animal Kingdom&#39;s Strange Attractor, but all is not what it seems...&quot;Having worked with Animal Kingdom two years ago, the band approached me with an idea in it&#39;s earliest form, and I instantly loved it,&quot; explains Ben. &quot;The challenge: to create something that is usually considered ugly and disgusting and to turn it into something watchable, hypnotic, even beautiful. The answer, an irresistible lead girl that draws you in while the unexpected takes place in front of her and is magnified by being captured in super slow motion at 2500 frames. I think/hope we managed to achieve this.&quot;The hardest part was the opening shot, which remains uninterrupted for one and a half minutes. In a matter of seconds we had to completely transform the background, from club to studio, change the lighting state, while zooming in and out of her as well as giving cues and her hitting them on specific beats. It was supposed to be fairly provocative and I think the feedback thus far proves that.&quot;

Filmed over two days in freezing December, the video was shot on a combination of 7D and Go Pro Cam, the 7D served to observe the scenes much like a documentary from afar, while the Go Pro Camera provides the perspective of the pulsing heart - and the basis of some impressively executed sequences, particularly one gravity defying shot at the start in which the viewer is lifted off into the air and caught again.
"We met the band at one of their gigs at Cargo, where we first heard the track - the song, with its ethereal tones and heavy beat really spoke to us," says Ben. "Within 10 minutes after the show we'd sat down with the band and established the narrative of the heart. Everything unfolded quite organically from there. The melody of the song at first appears light hearted and innocent, however the lyrics and grating synth speak of a darker gothic vibe. Luck was definitely on our side in terms of the weather and cast, seeing as it had been snowing the previous week. The idea was to combine a sense of the real and transpose it into the more surreal and mystical."
