James Caddick and James Cronin&#39;s&nbsp;Elephant Days is a&nbsp;documentary&nbsp;about&nbsp;The Maccabees recording their fourth album Marks To Prove It, and&nbsp;the band&rsquo;s creative process as they work in self-imposed isolation in an anonymous studio in London&rsquo;s Elephant and Castle.&nbsp;But the film also becomes a compelling&nbsp;portrait of the area and its local population at a time of radical change.Richard and Lyla create gardens in surprising spaces; local musician Natty is having a suit tailored; the Peckham Prides basketball team are striving for success; Crossways is a concrete church where BB heals through prayer; and Arment&#39;s Pie and Mash shop is an enduring local institution. Visual innovators Marshmallow Laser Feast are featured in the Barbican&#39;s current Digital Revolutions exhibition, and their new work - for Duologue&#39;s track Memex &ndash;&nbsp;is also breaking through the boundaries of the way imagery is captured.It&#39;s a study of mortality that&nbsp;explores photogrammetry techniques,&nbsp;filmed with FBFX&rsquo;s 94-camera high resolution scanning rig &ndash;&nbsp;which allows capture of 360&ordm; 3D scans in 1/13,000th of a second, with 16k photorealistic textures &ndash; to create a full body scan of model Beryl Nesbitt - a woman in her later years.The scans then went to Marshmallow Laser Feast&rsquo;s VFX collaborators Analog, who also captured the sunset as a spherical panoramic HDR photo. These two photographic processes were combined in 3D software to illuminate the scanned body,&nbsp;to reveal fascinating perspectives on the human form.
