This musical short film &ndash; a personal project and major labour of love from director Paris Zarcilla &ndash; is an epic fantasy, in which a neo-tribal hunter journeys to the Oracles to seek help to keep his desperately sick wife from the cold clutches of Death &ndash; before it&rsquo;s too late.It&rsquo;s so impressive it was recently shortlisted for &lsquo;Best Music Video&rsquo; and &lsquo;Best Short Film&rsquo; at London Independent Film Festival.&ldquo;Not quite sure how to describe this but if I had to its a long form music video that reads like a short film. It&rsquo;s been an epic journey with this project but well worth the sweat, blood and tears! Was aching to make something I could be proud of. The film was entirely self funded and made purely for the love of the song (artist Slow Magic) and a great story. The entire production was all in house by my company Sudden Black. It was a three day shoot, shot partly in my back garden, Wendover Woods (one hour drive from London) and Action Underwater Studios.&rdquo;

As London 2012 draws to its fabulous climax, and China and GB sit at the top of the medals table (currently first and third), Paris Zarcilla's video for Major Look's Bass Generation, shot a month or so ago, is looking quite prescient. Well, that is if food fighting were an Olympic sport...
"In a nutshell it's a Britain vs China in an Olympic game of food fighting which just happens to have some unintentional social/global commentary," explains Paris. "There's a whole bunch of 90's cultural references to cartoons and videos, but the main intention was to just have some fun. We had scheduled a whole load of extras, none of which turned up - so everyone you see in the crowd are from the crew. From a narrative point of view, hopefully, there's a comedic element to it with how little people there are." 
Indeed, its loads of fun - almost as much fun as watching Mo Farah storming home in the 10,000 metres. And another gold medal in the bag...

Paris Zarcilla offers up this lively one-shot revolving and evolving performance promo for The Milk's Chip The Kids with a large cast participating in the action.
"We were working on an immensely tight budget (who isn't these days) and short turnaround but I was adamant about not making a typical performance piece video," explains Paris. "The idea is quite technical in its execution but a simple idea which literally revolves around the band as they perform to camera. 
"The creativity of the video comes from taking advantage of the frames outside of the camera and what you don't see. I had them run behind lens and change their position or clothing so when the camera came around again the effect would be a comedic omnipresence. 
"With each rotation something is visually different and making an effort to go as far as making changes to the set which was quite strenuous but ultimately a fun video."

Paper Crows are the first signing by Pete Tong's reactivated label FFRR, and this is an innovative form of visual promotion for their Build EP, created by London digital agency Powster, where videos for each of the four songs on the EP are brought together to form one visual in an interactive synchronised music video player - just roll over each video to hear that song. 
The four music videos can be shared together as a group to Facebook, embedded as a giant highlighted Timeline update. It was added as a Facebook tab and added as a splash page on the official site. 
Below the innovative player is a crowd of crows formed by anyone tweeting #papercrows, and the campaign spans across Facebook/Twitter/YouTube and Vimeo to form a groundbreaking social campaign. Andrew Robinson directed the piece for Powster, with Ste Thompson in charge of design and interactive.
