Filmed over three days in Cape Town, Boy in the Picture follows a destitute young boy as he salvages stuffed animals from a dump, before escaping to a kingdom of teddies. It&rsquo;s Kyle Lewis&#39;s first production with Black Dog, and the shoot was used as an opportunity to train young South African filmmakers who came on board as trainees.One of the shining lights of the 90&rsquo;s house music scene, Kid Créme has spent the last decade alongside DJ &amp; production partner Junior Jack, touring and headlining at the best venues &amp; festivals worldwide. Boy In The Picture, a collaboration with House producer/DJ Jolyon Petch and singer Sian Evans, is an infectious, glimmering piece of pop.

Cape Town director Rob Smith returns to music videos and brings the craft of several years making award-winning ads&nbsp;to bear on this alluring piece of work for rapper PHFAT and Mac Motel.It&#39;s a sticky day by the pool when PHFAT reflects nostalgically upon his lost teen years and past crushes&nbsp;- symbolised by the gamine girl in a swimsuit. But as it turns out this is no ordinary pool.PHFAT says the track is &quot;an ode to all my high school crushes, you know? Like an ode to making mixtapes, and buying two tickets to a dance, and playing out whole lifetimes in your head while you daydream in maths class. There&rsquo;s also an elusiveness to that high school crush and a loss of naivety that happens as a person works through it and grows up. I wanted to capture all of that.&rdquo;&nbsp;

South African hiphop star Nasty C gets a very stylish and envelope-pushing treatment from Kyle Lewis, who maintains&nbsp;a flow of sumptuous visuals over three tracks from the album&nbsp;Bad Hair Extensions.The arresting image of bones emerging from liquid gold sets the standard for the imagery to follow, combining Restoration-style styling and art direction for Don&#39;t Do It, girls lipsyncing to Good Girls in a communal shower, and glitchy, flipped visuals within a luxury lifestyle for Phases. And indispersed throughout are more VFX, included a 3D scans&nbsp;of Nasty C&#39;s abstractly piled together.Excellent work from the director now established as a top name in South African music videos, with his work for the likes of&nbsp;Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick, and Khuli Chana. It topped the Apple Music video charts in South Africa for the week of its release, and give Nasty a chance to break out as a global artist.
