Andrew Donoho's latest explosive video for twenty one pilots' new track depicts buildings crumbling and crowds materialising from nothing.Firstly we see Tyler and Josh perform in a suburban house, and seemingly alone until we pull out and see a small crowd in the living room. This concept repeats across three separate locations, including the rooftop of the house, where a series of explosions forces them back inside,&nbsp;and the destruction starts to reverse.Simple in its concept, but executed perfectly, this video sits comfortably in twenty one pilots' videography and cements their collaborative relationship with Donoho, following five prior projects across the last few years.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Legendary rapper Nas addresses the reality of life in the USA for&nbsp;African-Americans today&nbsp;in Rohan&nbsp;Blair-Mangat&#39;s powerful 16 minute film showcasing&nbsp;several tracks from the Kanye West-produced album Nasir,&nbsp;released earlier this year.Blair-Mangat&#39;s film is epic and impressionistic in its scope, employing drama, documentary, and news and archive footage,&nbsp;as well as Nas&#39;s performances, to create a multi-layered visual interpretation of seven songs from the album. But it&#39;s the&nbsp;theme of black identity and culture, under constant threat of&nbsp;police brutality, that is the constant seam that runs through everything, culminating in the dramatisation of a modern tragedy.Written and directed by Mangat, shot in New York by Nicholas Bupp, and graded by Ricky Gausis, Nasir - The Film is beautifully articulated expression of righteous anger.&nbsp;

The first video from Rejjie Snow&#39;s recently released debut album Dear Annie is a parable on the plight of the outsider, the Other in society, given its own distinctive character by director Martin C. Pariseau.Snow plays an alien, different from earthlings only due to his facial markings, who is making a bid for freedom with his human girlfriend, with the police on his tail. Pariseau, best known for his award-winning video for Kaytranada&#39;s Lite Spots a couple of years ago, keeps his focus on the characters rather than overegging the plot.&nbsp;So this feels more like the pre-Spielberg 70s than the 80s and beyond.&nbsp;There&#39;s also room for a cameo by featured artist&nbsp;Animé, performing as he&nbsp;nonchalantly cruises past the escapee alien in a baby-blue convertible, top down.&ldquo;In this video I wanted to explore another form,&rdquo; says Rejjie Snow, who wanted the video to reflect the 70s, as well as exploring the track&rsquo;s themes of identity. &ldquo;Space themes shape the album and Martin&nbsp; brought this to life. It felt good to be from another planet for the day.&rdquo;

Cloud Rider, the first video for Paul Kalkbrenner&#39;s forthcoming seventh album, suitably entitled 7, is the opening salvo&nbsp;of a music video trilogy directed by Björn Rühmann&nbsp;called FLORIAN, which focusses on the increasingly painful adventures of a true innocent abroad.Florian, with ill-advised open-heartedness,&nbsp;attempts to share the music he loves with strangers via his headphones, only to receive continual rejection, and increasingly, aggression.&nbsp;It is meant to parallel the peculiar outsider role of the electronic dance music genre in the US. Despite its origins in Chicago and Detroit, the electronic style to this day hasn&rsquo;t arrived in mainstream America and is paradoxically considered &lsquo;foreign.&rsquo;The trilogy was written by Alexander Nowak and Felix Richter,&nbsp;two creative directors at ad agency Droga5. It&#39;s the first time the agency has been involved in making a music video, and at the moment there is no visible involvement of another brand.And If this is being produced under a more advertising type of model, its a fascinating first step - both funny and harrowing - and shows that Björn Rühmann is a talent to be reckoned with.&nbsp;&nbsp;
