Elisha Smith-Leverock heads off to a very chilly Iceland with The Saturdays to shoot the promo to new single Heart Takes Over.
"It was quite a challenge this one," explains Elisha. "A one day shoot with the girls, crew and vehicles battling gale force winds and torrential rain. Everyone was a real trooper though, particularly the girls who had to fight hard not to be completely blown over".

Ian Pons Jewell delivers this quirky, hard-edged and tongue-in-cheek winner for DJ Shadow's I'm Excited - from his forthcoming album The Less You Know The Better (September 26).
With an enigmatic performance from Afrikan Boy, Jewell's maverick promo certainly displays a flair for the surreal.
"The visuals came about pretty directly from listening to the track" explains Pons Jewell "originally drawing inspiration from the African Space Program. It became a bit out of hand trying to write a piece where he built a spaceship, so teleportation became the better option for the budget. 
"He was styled as a Gaddafi type dictator with an obsession for inter-dimensional travel, employing the skills of a mad inventor to make the contraption. We ended up with just over a week to turn it around".

Edward is a young Australian filmmaker who honed his distinctive cinematic style at the Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne and his graduation film Muscles made the Official Selection at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival and went on to play at major events around the world. He also directed the Foxx On Fire promo for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2011/01/18/foxx-on-fire%E2%80%99s-vicious-satellite-by-edward-housden/" target="_blank">Vicious Satellite</a> and, now relocated to London, has recently signed with Stamp Films. 
And Edward also features in his friend Ariel Kleiman's superb new short, <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2011/03/09/summertimes-by-ariel-kleiman/" target="_blank">Summertimes</a>.

Alpines are part of the new new wave of deeply cool electronica duos, and their video for killer debut Drive by Hope Audikana enhances their air of mystery with a not-quite negative photographic style and radical white borders (that bleed right into the blog - too weird!).
Ryan from Hope Audikana would rather keep the secret of the technique at the moment, but presumably Simon Astbury, who graded at Unit, was heavily involved. the result is a completely distinctive and beautiful video.

Mona - the new church-raised rock monsters out of the Deep South - came to Hope Audikana for the video for Teenager requesting (to quote lead singer Nick) "style and cinema dripping in sex." 
That's exactly what Ryan and Egoitz have delivered. The video shot late last year in Nashville, Tennessee features a gaggle of drop-dead gorgeous lingerie-clad stunners and a rampaging performance by the band - all photographed mightily by Steve Annis.
