Following up the lo-fi promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/01/18/fka-twigs-ride-dragon-aidan-zamiri/74595">Ride The Dragon</a>, Aidan Zamiri and FKA twigs keep up the pace with the next visual for the new Caprisongs mixtape, for Meta Angel.&nbsp;This time around, the narrative plays a much stronger part in the concept, though there is still plenty of abstract imagery to delve into.Twigs stands in the middle of a field, performing on the spot as she looks around, dazed and mesmerised. Her&nbsp;doppelgänger climbs onto a roof, and with razor sharp precision, fires an arrow directly into the other character's heart.&nbsp;The dazzling track accompanies a darkly beautiful visual, which&nbsp;carries over the raw qualities of the artist's last collaboration with Zamiri, but is much more intentional and theatrical in its execution.&nbsp;

Aidan Zamiri and FKA twigs embrace&nbsp;the challenges of going guerilla in the arrestingly lo-fi&nbsp;promo for Ride The Dragon.&nbsp;The candid video opens on the steps of&nbsp;Hackney Town Hall in East London, where twigs and her gang of dancers position themselves for a flashmob dance routine - to be captured on a long lens by DoP Molly Manning Walker. But it was never going to be that easy.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With echoes of the classic video for Fatboy Slim's Praise You, the performance is interrupted when council staff and&nbsp;security guards act&nbsp;to promptly&nbsp;shut them down and move the girls along - leaving a confused-looking boom-op in their wake.The rest of the video documents how the gang regather at a local corner shop, regaining their zest before&nbsp;returning to complete their challenge, just metres away from the original location - before the heavy mob move in again.&nbsp;It's a far more rough-and-ready, doc-style affair than&nbsp;twigs&nbsp;and Zamiri's&nbsp;previous collaboration on the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/08/21/645ar-ft-fka-twigs-sum-bout-u-aidan-zamiri/66212">645AR track Sum Bout You</a>&nbsp;- or indeed any previous twigs video.&nbsp;The first of a series of videos directed by Zamiri for&nbsp;Caprisongs, twigs's&nbsp;newly released mixtape,&nbsp;it&nbsp;also&nbsp;suggests a more spontaneous and impulsive side of the artist that actually adds to her mystique, and directly communicates her fantastic ability as a dancer.&nbsp;

For their previously unreleased song Follow Me Around, Radiohead have a wonderful new video by directing&nbsp;duo Us -&nbsp;Chris Barrett and Luke Taylor - starring Guy Pearce. He plays the hapless victim of a particularly tenacious insect - and we, the viewer,&nbsp;are that pesky bug.&nbsp;A simple idea is transformed by Barrett and Taylor's brilliant employment of up-to-the-minute tech. And indeed, minute tech: the entire video is shot on a&nbsp;tiny drone&nbsp;that speeds through London streets, and through tiny spaces, and finds its way to Pearce's East London home - where the relentless attack&nbsp;by the bug begins. Everything we see comes from insect-POV, as we witness Pearce's increasing desperation and panic.[imgtoken data:1]Us were inspired to look through the mini-critter's eyes, having spent a summer combatting mosquitos. They were also inspired by&nbsp;footage of tiny drones that can go through anywhere at speed.&nbsp;With the brilliant casting of Pearce, Barrett and Taylor have also elevated the concept further, adding a level of ambiguity&nbsp;where surveillance, paranoia and the humble mosquito meet.&nbsp;The formatting of the camera was made to emulate both the period of the song, with its lo-fi 420p resolution, and also the idea of surveillance cameras, as well as the erratic and somewhat flailing camp of vision one imagines a mosquito’s to be. Married with Guy Pearce’s outstanding acting, the sparse visuals are meant to make the viewer feel as uncomfortable as the character on the screen.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]And why is Pearce being targetted?&nbsp;We really can only guess, as the one thing we cannot see is the attacker itself - is this actually an insect, or perhaps another form of Bug...It is of course perfect for the lovely song Follow Me Around, a live favourite which dates back to the era of OK Computer,&nbsp;that Radiohead are only now releasing, on the new Kid A/Amnesiac sessions project. This one goes direct to the pantheon of great Radiohead videos.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Will Hooper kicks off the New Year with an impeccable promo&nbsp;for Rag’n’Bone Man’s&nbsp;All You Ever Wanted.&nbsp;Visualising the song’s social commentary on overpopulation and gentrification, Hooper presents the idyll of a pristine model village, bringing his trademark charm and wit to the table.&nbsp; As the track progresses however, the layers are peeled back to reveal the reality hidden beneath: an unhinged dystopia playing&nbsp;out in live action.Every detail in the video had to be meticulously planned out through a series of animatics and storyboards. This took place weeks prior to shooting, in order for the model village set build - led by Jennifer Kidd - to work with the matchframe scenes in the live action.This attention to detail has paid off - the video is a stunning and unexpected take on very important themes, with an unforgettable aesthetic and visual style, which perfectly complements Hooper's recent steps into the bizarre and uncanny.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Fenn O’Meally explores&nbsp;musical obsession in her charming promo for Texas ft. Wu-Tang Clan.&nbsp;The film features&nbsp;Kadeem Ramsay - well known for his recurring role in Top Boy, and also in Steve McQueen anthology Small Axe - as Myles, an obsessive Texas and Wu-Tang fan. After seeing their legendary joint performance at the 1998 Brit Awards, he’s spent the last 15 years collecting merch and memorabilia of the two, whilst plotting ways to bring this monumental collaboration back. The film follows Myles’&nbsp;obsession with the ultimate music collaboration and his hope that they will, one day, reunite.O’Meally&nbsp;injects humour and effortless charisma into the project, while employing a clever split narrative.&nbsp;Lensed by Molly Manning Walker, the use of authentic, docu-style shots helps build a sense of character and narrative, whilst the more experimental footage brings a jolt&nbsp;of youthful energy to the overall concept.&nbsp;The production design and art direction are top-notch, cleverly portraying a sense of celebrity obsession, without going overboard into parody territory. Loyle Carner tells his life story in one take in the impressive video for Yesterday, directed by The Coyle-Larner Brothers - Ben Coyle-Larner, aka Loyle Carner, and his brother Ryan.&nbsp;The video presents a touching coming-of-age story that comes full circle, all in one continuous take. We see the baby become a music-obsessed boy, an increasingly digruntled youth - as he grows to understand the world around him - becoming creative and learning&nbsp;to speak out against political and social discrimination. Then he starts making music, and finally becomes the man holding the baby.The beauty of the piece is how each element of the video works as it own world, even as the transitions occur seamlessly&nbsp;within a single Steadicam shot. It's ambitious and has been executed to perfection - and for that, Ben and Ryan engaged with the rapper's first love of theatre. They enlisted crew members from the West End, National Theatre and the stage team of Hamilton to bring their vision to life, to devise some ingenious set movements within a small space and a short amount of time.The fact that the Loyle Carner Brothers&nbsp;have come up with such a strikingly&nbsp;accomplished video, exploring the creative&nbsp;connections between music video to musical theatre&nbsp;to make serious message,&nbsp;augurs very well for their future career as directors.

And even more disconcertingly, breaks into a cute smile.&nbsp;Matthew Josephs, Twigs' regular stylist, pulled together the fantastic looks in true magpie fashion when the world was just emerging from&nbsp;lockdown - as <a href="https://theface.com/style/fka-twigs-fashion-stylist-matthew-josephs-645ar-sum-bout-u" target="_blank">he explained to&nbsp;The Face</a>.Then Zamiri framed the encounter&nbsp;- Twigs was shot in London, and 645AR filmed in the US - in a computer interface he designed with Weir Prior, that you will appreciate once you stop gawping at Twigs. Frank Lebon welcomes us into the kitchen sink of James Blake's mind, sparked by the splatter of pigeon poo on his head...How to make an investigation of the the diversity and complexity of relationships that is funny, scurrilous, touching, eccentric, and a bit disgusting (that repeated toilet shot, ugh), and make it something that could only really work as a music video? Well, Frank Lebon has done it.The song Can't Believe The Way We Flow is classic Blake in smooth melodic and romantic mode. Lebon responds by making his edit as kinetic as possible. Few shots last&nbsp;on screen for more than a few frames, and often a lot less, and he creates several superb sequences of live action animation. The advantage is you can get in a lot of stuff by that method - there are many people in many fairly simple yet intriguing setups - and the speed of the edit actually works perfectly with the song.With a cast of dozens and a smattering of drawn animation, Lebon has created a lo-fi epic, and a bit of a classic.[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2][imgtoken data:3][imgtoken data:4]
