Steve Stamp plays a lonely guy compelled to rebel against authority - in the form of a bumptiously self-important security guard - in Duncan Loudon's delightfully absurd accompaniment to Signal From The Noise, the first release from Canadian jazzers Bad Bad Not Good's new album.Over the track's psychedelia-influenced nine-minute duration, Stamp finds imaginative ways to rile his small-minded arch-nemesis - played by Michael Armstrong -&nbsp;in a Docklands-style open space&nbsp;where definition of private and public is notably blurred.&nbsp;His piece de resistance is the&nbsp;accurate puppet version of the guard to the space, provoking a predictably furious&nbsp;reaction.[imgtoken data:1]Shot on 16mm, with a natural grade of Oliver Ford's cinematography by Connor Coolbear at ETC, Loudon has applied a&nbsp;very contemporary look to a film that's really&nbsp;in the ballpark&nbsp;of classic silent comedy.Steve Stamp channels something of both Chaplin and Jacques Tati in his performance as the deadpan rebel railing against small-minded officialdom. It's great - and inspiring.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Continuing their longstanding collaboration with Noel Gallagher, Dan Cadan and Jonathan 'Scully' Mowatt continue where they&nbsp;left off in the previous promo&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/05/17/noel-gallaghers-high-flying-birds-were-our-way-now-dan-cadan-jonathan-scully/70884">We're On Our Way Now&nbsp;</a>, exploring the lives&nbsp;of lovers in a nouvelle vague-flavoured London, played by Matt Smith and Gala Gordon.Flying On The Ground builds upon the enigmatic narrative of the previous video, with plenty of improvised scenes and visual nods to French-wave films A Bout De Souffle&nbsp;and&nbsp;Bande A Part.&nbsp;Whether or not viewers are familiar with the French new wave&nbsp;is less important&nbsp;than the compelling performances and suggestion of a plot combine to create something absorbing to watch. Dan Cadan and Jonathan 'Scully' Mowatt's latest video for Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds&nbsp;brings the French nouvelle vague&nbsp;to modern London, and as with previous work for Noel, features a big name cast: Matt Smith and Gala Gordon play the lovers in a story inspired directly by Godard's Breathless.The video for We're On Our Way Now provides a snapshot of the lives of the couple, where an ambivalence and darkness lurks under the surface of a true romance. The directors also leave enough to the viewer's imagination to try to piece together a bigger story.As with the Jean-Paul Belmondo character in Breathless, Matt Smith is mixed up with some shady goings-on - either working for, or possibly against Noel Gallagher, who features in a cameo as a gangland figure. Smith bring depth to the part and is ideally cast. Both he and Gordon - her second video for Gallagher - are both captured wonderfully in a timeless-looking London by Danish DoP&nbsp;Niels Reedtz Johansen.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

In their fourth collaboration with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Dan Cadan and Jonathan 'Scully' Mowatt deliver a richly atmospheric&nbsp;setpiece&nbsp;starring Jack O'Connell. In fact, the video for Blue Moon Rising&nbsp;feels like part of a bigger narrative - a gangster movie,&nbsp;also featuring&nbsp;Noel himself as the head of this particular family business.While Noel is in the back office, discussing serious matters with his associates, O'Connell appears as a more fun-loving guy - rather worse for wear, and lured onto the dancefloor of a deserted club by a mystery woman, played by Gala Gordon. All the while they are&nbsp;observed by another, more serious young&nbsp;man (James Nelson Joyce).&nbsp;&nbsp;It's a very cinematic scenario, with some electric chemistry between O'Connell and Gordon, well-paced to work with the track. It's also a video that does that rare thing of putting Noel Gallagher's brooding charisma to good use. By the end you want to know more about this set of characters, and the relationship between them.

Directed by Lucy Luscombe, Blood Orange&#39;s High Street&nbsp;is a contradiction &ndash;&nbsp;green leaves and concrete streets. The contrast leaves a perfect platform for Skepta&#39;s honest lyrics and Dev Hynes&#39; soft support.&nbsp;It&#39;s an unlikely match, but their&nbsp;unifying force is London.&nbsp;Shot in Muswell Hill, Skepta goes from the park to the high street, and then&nbsp;the bus garage, confirming there is hardly anything more identifiably&nbsp;London&nbsp;than&nbsp;the red bus.
