Nez&#39;s excellent new video for Michael Kiwanuka is all about a community standing tall.Opening with a some incredibly tight letterboxing, the audience is given a minimal amount of visual information - just a guy on a street who starts to dance. The perspective seems a bit strange, and it&#39;s not until that letterboxed image opens up some that you can fully understand why. A dizzying camera swoops around the dancer as his neighbours watch on before he&#39;s joined by somebody else. The video manages to be massively fun and carefree whilst delivering important visuals about community togetherness.

Young Replicant&#39;s new Purity Ring video for Begin Again seems intrinsically linked the the album&#39;s title&nbsp;Another Eternity,&nbsp;with a nebulous story of&nbsp;immortality through some dark and&nbsp;unsettling&nbsp;sorcery.&nbsp;Set in an eery&nbsp;puritanical village, the story revolves around a community elder who awaits for a younger body, which takes the form of a young woman who is dug up from a shallow grave. The work &#39;creepy&#39; doesn&#39;t begin to cover it.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Chemical Brothers - Sometimes I Feel So Deserted

Ninian Doff&#39;s dramatic and claustrophobic video for Kasabian&#39;s Stevie translates the song&#39;s lyrics &ndash; addressed to a potential killer &ndash;&nbsp;into a futuristic&nbsp;scenario about&nbsp;the creation through relentless conditioning&nbsp;of an indestructible&nbsp;human. And you sense that it&#39;s not for altruistic&nbsp;reasons.&nbsp;Masked&nbsp;scientists experiment on a young boy, who knows nothing else but the dark, starkly-lit room where he goes through a grinding daily routine &ndash; and becomes impervious to pain. But ultimately the boy shows he&#39;s not simply a completely programmable machine, in a video which grips the viewer as it builds suspense - and leaves us wondering if it is actually set in the future.And as with his videos this year for Peace and Royal Blood it shows that Ninian - nominated for Best Director at the UKMVAs next month - is getting as good with serious cinematic narratives as he has always been&nbsp;with VFX- and comedy-driven videos.&nbsp;&nbsp;
