Sophie Muller and Theo Adams co-direct an impassioned performance promo for US artist Benson Boone.&nbsp;We see Boone sat in a desolate, cold bedroom set, pensive and alone, whilst the camera floats around him. At the chorus, his body whips up into a zero-gravity atmosphere, before he escapes to a new location, breaking free of his metaphorical prison.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Extending their collaborations on the recent Kylie Minogue videos -&nbsp;including&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/11/18/kylie-minogue-jessie-ware-kiss-life-sophie-muller/73851" target="_blank">Kiss Of Life</a>&nbsp;-&nbsp;this sees Sophie Muller sharing directing credits with Theo Adams for the first time, and it is another beautifully&nbsp;executed project, superbly shot by Joel Honeywell.It's also a great showcase for the charismatic,&nbsp;athletic Benson&nbsp;Boone. He gives a terrific, emotional&nbsp;performance&nbsp; - including just the right amount of dancing in the rain.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A group of schoolchildren create their own ABBA homage in Sophie Muller's touching seasonal promo for Little Things.&nbsp;The track&nbsp;is a gentle reflection on the joy of Christmas morning and family time around this special time of year, and the proceeds from CD sales are going&nbsp;to Unicef&nbsp;to help&nbsp;support the&nbsp;Global Child Protection Fund.&nbsp;In the video, we see a dedicated and ambitious group of school-age children, many of whom in real life are close to (or even related to!) the creative team behind the groundbreaking Voyage concerts.[imgtoken data:1]This next generation of geniuses are inspired to create an ABBA Voyage ‘Christmas Special’, and embark with irrepressible enthusiasm on the enterprise of motion capture, choreography, costume design, stage lighting and band rehearsals, culminating with the arrival of parents and family members, to watch a convincing performance by the re-imagined ‘ABBA’, as the track draws to a close.&nbsp;Evoking a sense of traditional Christmas wonder, it's a charming concept and a perfect accompaniment to the group's iconic comeback.&nbsp;

ABBA 'Little Things' by Sophie Muller

ABBA - Little Things

Split-screen has become part of the visual vernacular of the world in isolation, and directors have been looking for imaginative ways to use it. Now Karni &amp; Saul have found an original and yet strikingly simple way to turn the new everyday into art, for Micah P Hinson's emotional new song You And Me.The Bristol-based husband and wife team collaborated with nine female dancers from around the world in quarantine. The dancers are connected by the choreography they perform from within their own homes, but as well as presenting them together, Karni &amp; Saul keep the nine-frame format when focussing on each dancer separately. Each frame the movement is slightly different by a few frames,&nbsp;creating a staccato effect. It is very engaging, and soothing to watch.This deconstruction of movement is reminiscent of the experiments of Edweard Muybridge in the late 19th century - although Saul Freed points out below what we are seeing is also different from Muybridge - arguably the opposite of what he was doing.But what is also&nbsp;striking about this particular lockdown video is the composition of each set-up, remotely directed by Karni Areili. These were shot on the dancers' phones, but they are as immaculately presented as anything we've seen during this period.&nbsp;&nbsp;This projects also represents a coming around full circle for Karni &amp; Saul, as one of their breakthrough pieces as directors was <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiVS56IePXw&amp;list=PLE4AF4256C3F79706" target="_blank">a video for Hinson's Beneath The Rose</a>&nbsp;- also a live action video that was rooted in domesticity.&nbsp;And it's one of the best lockdown videos so far.[imgtoken data:1]

With an ability to combine a variety of media and lo-fi VFX to create complex and scintillating visual collages, Natalia&rsquo;s work also includes the videos for Echo Lake&rsquo;s Even The Blink (co-directed with Alex Oliver), Roses Gabor&rsquo;s Stars and Drop Out Venus&rsquo;s Love In Vein. She also collaborated on a viral smash for fashion brand Kenzo.
