A woman longs for connection through various virtual personas, in Tim Mattia's absorbing video for Sasha Sloan.&nbsp;In Lie, Sloan&nbsp;is rejected, unable to get a word or glance out of her real partner. So she heads online to different online chatrooms, and&nbsp;hides her true identity in favour of a custom-built character for different scenarios: a high school student one second, a gay man the next, whatever suits the conversation she is having. Furthermore, the people who she is connecting with are similarly not what they seem.&nbsp;Surprisingly poignant and emotionally affecting, the themes of isolation and the lack of purpose in our lives unfold beautifully, showing the characters on either side of the connection working out their own personal issues, finding solace in a make believe world.&nbsp;Tim Mattia's frequent collaborator DoP&nbsp;Justyn Moro uses the limited space available in each room to great effect, using practical lights to break up the darkness and shadow, whilst keeping a brooding and enigmatic atmosphere.&nbsp;

Getting up close in the action, the camera matches the frenetic, spontaneous movements of the couple, to give a sense of both adventure and fear of the unknown.&nbsp;A blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo from Sam Hunt in the café scene is an unintrusive addition, with the focus of the story staying on the teens and the promise of a new life.&nbsp;

Mabel's performance brings the heat and switches up the pace through several impressive dance setups. Cinematic, and with a heavy dose of nostalgia, this is a brilliant promo pulled off by a talented creative team.&nbsp;

Rock's king of darkness proves he can pivot and do something more akin to The Man In Black in Tim Mattia's video for God's Gonna Cut You Down.&nbsp;Following on from Manson's announcement earlier this year that he was to make an album more "Southern" in tone and heavily autobiographical in nature, this is a first look at the new material.&nbsp;Shot in monochrome, and featuring a typically offbeat and weird performance from Manson, the video contains various references to religious iconography, blurring the line between reality and the spiritual world. Tim Mattia's exceptional craft helps Manson transition to a place far outside of his usual comfort zone, by keeping strands of his iconic style in with the new elements.&nbsp;Another cracking cover version from Manson, who doesn't seem to be abandoning his shapeshifting ways anytime soon. And that's a very good thing indeed.&nbsp;

Bishop Briggs is a shaved-head warrior in a cinematic revenge story over two videos&nbsp;by Tim Mattia.The first video for Champion&nbsp;introduces Briggs in the middle of the desert, performing as her body rattles with anger. Driving up to a bar, she takes an armoured case from the trunk, and charges towards the venue. Immediately met by a couple of thugs, Bishop takes them out with the case, hardly batting an eyelid. She's on a mission, and she's royally pissed off.&nbsp;We are shown glimpses of a wedding, where Briggs is left at the aisle, in a striking homage to Kill Bill. The narrative hints at a variety of wrongdoing, but more importantly, we get to see the vengeful aftermath, culminating in a showdown between Briggs and her ex-beau in the bar.The narrative of&nbsp;Tattooed On My Heart&nbsp;delves further into the backstory, and replaces the frenetic fight scenes with emotional vignettes. We see Briggs and her fiancé&nbsp;in love, getting matching tattoos, and eventually ready to marry in a remote church. We are also shown Briggs returning to the church, with the mystery item she retrieved in the first video...Both&nbsp;beautifully shot by Justyn Moro, making great use of the abundant natural light and dusty colour palettes of the location, TIm Mattia has cemented his position as one of the pre-eminent music video directors working today with this impressive double-video project that complement each other impressively.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;[vidtoken data:0]&nbsp;&nbsp;
