Krishna Muthurangu and&nbsp;Kit Monteith co-direct an absorbing&nbsp;promo for Mykki Blanco, featuring legendary singer-songwriter Michael Stipe&nbsp;of REM fame.&nbsp;The video for Family Ties&nbsp;complements&nbsp;the narrative in the track, following Blanco's ex-boyfriend as he tries to help his father,&nbsp;who is suffering with mental health issues.&nbsp;The black and white, coastal aesthetic perfectly suits the concept, highlighting the isolating nature of trying to help someone close to you who is going through something difficult, both from Blanco and the boyfriend character's perspective.&nbsp;The intermittent performance sections have a similarly sombre mood, and explore the contrast of solitude versus freedom. Both Blanco and Stipe's performances are restrained - the former&nbsp;in a small area of the house, and the latter appearing on a vintage television set - and this elevates the themes of the concept.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Krishna Muthurangu directs a lo-fi promo for Everything Everything's Jennifer - the first release from their new album&nbsp;-&nbsp;with a teenage cast performing in place of the group.&nbsp;The unexpected visual treatment - which is shot to look like a vintage&nbsp;VHS recording&nbsp;- intercuts between the teenage group's performance and home video snapshots of them out and about exploring, and feels refreshingly authentic from start to end.&nbsp;The track is taken from new album Raw Data Feels, for which the band used a custom artificial intelligence to help write the lyrics and design the cover art, from selected information inputted into it. The contrast of this cutting edge technology and the choice to make this video feel familiarly warm and nostalgic is a very interesting one, and offers a different perspective to the project.&nbsp;
