Iain Simpson directs a gripping and thought-provoking&nbsp;video for Rudimental x Skream, touching upon mental health, family and forgiveness.&nbsp;The video explores the intertwining lives of two characters in particular - Jack, a man struggling with his father's early-onset dementia, and Safe, a mental health nurse assigned to his case.&nbsp;The moving visuals take a look behind the scenes of some of the most difficult, tender moments the strangers share, and Simpson isn't&nbsp;afraid to touch upon themes of nationalism and racism - which ties into the end card promoting Samaritans - who are prepared to offer help,&nbsp;whatever you're going through and whoever you are.&nbsp;Simpson's direction, and the excellent cinematography of Lorenzo Levrini,&nbsp;very much lets the story unravel in an organic way, without any bias to the subject matter on screen, and as such represents more of a tapestry of moments, leaning into a grittily realistic aesthetic.[imgtoken data:1]

Iain Simpson explores&nbsp;themes of loneliness and uncertainty in his heartfelt promo for Kidnap: a disturbed&nbsp;man walks along streets and roads in a deserted&nbsp;world, and wails into the void.&nbsp;In a year where it's been difficult for directors and artists to create - or even work at all -&nbsp;this video captures something of the zeitgeist of our current climate.&nbsp;Shot in Glasgow, and featuring a&nbsp;performance of raw intensity from the lead actor, the video alludes strongly to&nbsp;the mental health impacts of the last year or so.[imgtoken data:1]It's a testament&nbsp;to Simpson's ability to tell stories with an empathetic approach. The video uses grainy 16mm&nbsp;cinematography - and an abundance of black and white - to represent the gritty environment, the&nbsp;lack of life, and the focus upon a man steadily coming apart over a long night.&nbsp;"The incredibly talented producer kidnap wrote and released this track in lockdown last year, it perfectly embodies the mood many of us shared at the time - an emotive and raw response to the circumstances we faced," says Iain SImpson.&nbsp;"I'm really happy that Haus Pictures got to bring this to life further with the release of this video."

Director Iain Simpson has taken a trip to Malawi on behalf of Beating Heart, a project that combines music originally recorded in the country in an epic field recording project, remixed by contemporary artists.In the case of The Work, remixed by Rudimental, it is a wonderfully uplifting piece of music - and don&#39;t we all need that right now. Simpson has done it wonderful&nbsp;justice on with this tour&nbsp;around Malawi - made with the help of fundraiser Love Support Unite (Lovespecs) - which, with the considerable assistance of DoP&nbsp;Aymen Fahmi,&nbsp;shows what a beautiful country it is.The core music on the Beating Heart Malawi album comes from an archive of 35,000&nbsp;field recordings across Sub-Saharan Africa,&nbsp;between the 1920s &amp; 1970s by Hugh Tracey. An extraordinary legacy. And the prceeds for the album will go to&nbsp;assist people in the areas where the music was originally recorded. A very worthy cause indeed.
