Global disaster looms in Dan Searle's action-packed promo for Architects.In the video for Tear Gas - once again directed by the band's co-founder and drummer -&nbsp;the group play panicked scientists manning planet earth's main control centre, as disaster threatens life as we know it.&nbsp;Intercutting between a playful narrative - where 80s wigs and satire take centre stage - and a slick performance in an enigmatic industrial setting, it's a new look for Architects, and they wear it very well indeed.&nbsp;

Architects' founder and drummer Dan Searle takes up the director's reins once again -&nbsp;after his excellent video for Animals - for a terrific performance video achieved in a single take.&nbsp;The premise is pretty simple:&nbsp;Architects&nbsp;are captured playing When We Were Young on a camera constantly moving around them on a circular track. It's the faultless execution that elevates the idea to the next level.With a low-key intro before the band explode into action, and a great lighting set-up to highlight the mood, the camera revolves around a pulsating performance by the band where Architects' frontman Sam Carter is always the focus of attention, the centre point in the circle the whole time.Beautifully shot by Thomas English, this is a really excellent&nbsp;performance video. The band's drummer really knows what he's doing.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Architects 'When We Were Young' by Dan Searle

Lochlainn McKenna (aka&nbsp;Locky), has created a charming&nbsp;and poignant sort of unrequited&nbsp;love for Keane,&nbsp;which sees&nbsp;the band take on the roles of teachers judging the school’s singing competition, as a group of ‘mini Keanes’ play the house band.The band each take on a different role: Tom Chaplin as the clumsy PE Teacher, pianist Tim Rice-Oxley as the utterly disinterested and too cool for school History Teacher, drummer Richard Hughes as the confused and weary Maths Teacher who can’t keep up, and bassist Jesse Quin as the eccentric, enthusiastic Arts Teacher.The mixture of HD and Mini-DV footage is nostalgic and reminiscent of the early 00's, and the simple DIY style set design is a throwback to cheesy school talent shows (that I'm sure we were all forced to participate in as kids).&nbsp;Bassist Jesse Quin tells us,&nbsp;“our hope was that we’d come up with a light-hearted and fun, but emotionally compelling look at the idea of loving maybe a little too much.” He continues “though it may fall apart, we can find some solace in the memories of what was – “Nothing can take that away from me.”'&nbsp;
