A lone choirboy in his choral gown collects fragments of electronic equipment along mudflats in Broken Antenna's poignant video for Clark's Small.The track is taken from the electronic musician and soundtrack composer's latest album&nbsp;Playground In A Lake, released on classical label Deutsche Grammaphon, and features young Nathaniel Timoney on vocals - who plays the beachcoming choirboy&nbsp;in the video.Filmed in the Thames estuary, this is a tonal departure for the directing duo&nbsp;- that's&nbsp;Myles McAuliffe and Gustav Newby&nbsp;- compared to previous videos for&nbsp;Hak Baker and others. With the big bad dogs closing in, Nothing But Thieves' frontman Conor Mason begins a daring act of escapology, in Elliot Gonzo's video for Impossible, inspired by the exploits of Harry Houdini.From being strapped and helpless in a straitjacket on a beach, reality twists as Mason&nbsp;is suddenly plunged into deep water manacled and chained to a rock.This sort of suspense never gets old, and the&nbsp;singer's Houdini-esque escape act is well presented here in a riveting accompaniment to the swell of emotion in Impossible. And Mason even manages to some sub-aqua lipsync.&nbsp;

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes reanimates the Japanese monster movie genre&nbsp;in his thoroughly entertaining video for Obey - co-starring fellow Brit rocker Yungblud.&nbsp;Taking inspiration from Mecha - giant robots controlled by humans, popularised in Japanese anime and concepts such as&nbsp;Power Rangers&nbsp;and&nbsp;Transformers - the video pits Sykes' robot, towering over the city below, against Yungblud's punkier, spikier humanoid nemesis. All hell ensues when they confront each other - building to a disarming (and hilarious) final twist.[imgtoken data:1]With the spot-on production design by Dale Oliver Slater,&nbsp;and sterling work on robot wardrobe and makeup by Natasha Lawes,&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Dan Stafford-Clark pays homage to the Japanese source material (and possibly Beastie Boys' Intergalactic too) while adding a contemporary flair of his own.Then VFX work at Creep Post put excellent finishing touches to Sykes' vision. Talking about the meaning behind the video and the track, he says: "We consider ourselves free but only because the chains are invisible, and we are controlled in ways we don't even want to think about. They tell us how to live with a smile on their face - like shit ain't fucked up, inform us of tragic statistics like its nothing… it’s a weird world.[imgtoken data:2]"2020 is the year where we’re all being challenged by a deep and dark reality, but it’s also feeling like a time of hope and positivity. Our generation is waking up, realising what’s being conveyed, what we’re being sheltered from, and with that comes empowerment. We are being controlled in ways we don’t even want to think about, but with knowledge comes strength, and choices.. and the music video represents all of that."I wanted to add a real sense of nostalgia to the music video also to deliver such heavy lyrical content as a reminder of simpler times, and I’ve always been a huge fan of anime such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, so creating a blend of that, Power rangers and Godzilla was a super fun and creative shoot."

Elliot Simpson&nbsp;devises an entertaining&nbsp;split-screen narrative for Joel Corry's Head &amp; Heart, featuring MNEK, as he explores the importance of having a positive outlook on life.&nbsp;In both halves of the screen a young man goes about the same daily routine - but&nbsp;one side of the screen he is incredibly miserable, and unsuccessful. In the other, he's happy, popular and a big success.&nbsp;And while the 'head'&nbsp;side of frame is desaturated, awkward and hopeless, the 'heart' side is rosy, optimistic and fun.DoP&nbsp;Stefan Yap matches the two concepts in terms of framing and camera movement, with alternate lighting setups and styling used to contrast the mood and tone. Meanwhile, performers Joel Corry and MNEK also occupy the split screen too.&nbsp;Ultimately the two versions of the young man - actually played by twins Luke and Solomon Adlam&nbsp;- meet at the climax of the video. In the end, there is only one of them, with a more balanced worldview and attitude...
