Truman &amp; Cooper return to music video with a brilliantly gripping&nbsp;narrative piece for UK rapper Bourne.&nbsp;The rising Nottingham-based artist is shown journeying across Europe, on the run from his problems, whilst also spiralling into a hedonistic cycle of booze, sex and violence.&nbsp;The cinematic aesthetic is elevated by a minacious undercurrent of fear and trepidation, achieved through a breathless edit which reflects&nbsp;the emotional rollercoaster Bourne is experiencing. Terrific stuff.

Vincent Catel makes his music video directing debut with a love story told in a series of beautifully composed moments for Paris-based producer&nbsp;Bamao Yendé and singer Le Diouck.Catel's video for&nbsp;Marvin Gueye follows the emotional life of a young couple, with their intimate life captured in wonderfully crafted sequences. Through Benoit Soler's cinematography, Catel employs a striking use of colour and light, together with the couple's performances, to convey a warm and sensual atmosphere.It's a notable debut from Catel, former creative director at Iconoclast Paris who worked on campaigns for&nbsp;Hermès, Dior, Paco Rabanne and&nbsp;Chloé, and music videos for The Blaze, before joining Diplomats in Paris to expand his artistic vision as a director.

Following the video for Son, shot during last year's spring lockdown, David Bertram collaborates with Wassailer for a second time, with more breathtaking results.&nbsp;The video for Song For Elsa opens with a bloodied and bruised man stumbling along a windswept beach. He is following&nbsp;an unidentified woman in a yellow dress&nbsp;as she walks towards the horizon. He's trying to catch up with her, but she remains agonisingly beyond his reach.And there is another problem.&nbsp;Intermittently this troubled individual is faced with an aggressive doppelgänger, who is trying to prevents&nbsp;him from getting closer - and sometimes becomes the woman...Like <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/09/17/wassailer-son-david-bertram/66689" target="_blank">Son</a>, this is stunningly photographed by Bertram himself. And like Son, he creates an emotional reaction in the viewer with terrific&nbsp;style, ingenuity and economy, with terrific use of the location. But&nbsp;this is altogether&nbsp;darker - the sense of&nbsp;self-destruction and loss is unmistakeable.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

A girl is trapped in a traumatic spiral, in David Bertram's fascinating promo for Bicep.&nbsp;Exploring themes of family relationships, adolescence and guilt, the innovative video for Saku depicts a girl running away from her home to meet friends, before becoming stuck in a perpetual loop.&nbsp;The striking performances are matched by the mind-boggling structure of the video - a single take, marshalled by DoP&nbsp;Pat Aldinger, repeated in motion control, which transforms the apartment block staircase&nbsp;into an awkwardly undefined space with no discernable way out.&nbsp;This is a true gem, endlessly engaging and a perfect fit to the otherworldly soundscapes in the track.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

David Bertram explores destruction and rebirth in his stunning video for&nbsp;London-based up and comer Wassailer,&nbsp;entirely shot at home during Covid lockdown.Featuring a cast of kids dressed head-to-toe in post-Apocalyptic garments, the brilliant visual for Son presents an alternate perspective of a near-future catastrophe, where children have to fend for themselves and&nbsp;protect what's theirs.&nbsp;Shot in cinematic monochrome, the gritty aesthetic elevates the dichotomy of youth and and old age, innocence and guilt. Doubling up as DoP as well as director, Bertram has negotiated breathtaking performances from each of the young cast, anchoring the concept in a devastating reality, which mirrors many of the issues in our current zeitgeist.&nbsp;
