"Ferraby and I have done several videos together, but this one was a little different - we didn't want to over think it like our productions of the past," explains Marquez. "Ferraby was touring through Portland, and I asked him to stay with us a day on a stop off. I took him out to the woods near my home here in Hood River and we just filmed all those old locations that I had seen on my hikes around the area.
"We knew that at the bridge of the song, everything slows down so we shot that in slow motion, which transitioned us to the dream sequence. Ferraby had an idea that he wanted to take what we'd done in the Oregon forest and really make a surreal version of it later on stage. So we took a few months to look at the footage, and two months later in LA we shot the ending on a stage. 
"That was all great too, because we brought in the very talented Topsy design crew to art direct that scene. They built these incredible handmade tree suits, which would represent Ferraby's fight against nature. So you go from this naturalistic wandering through the forest, to the classic music video surrealism. And they both are in their own version of a forest!"

The video for the track Ken! penned by Harry Hill sees Bill Roache aka Ken Barlow play a cowboy in a spaghetti western pastiche.&quot;I knew this was the venue to shoot in after seeing a plaster cast Indian Chief in a local shop window directing me fatefully towards the Lamb Hotel&quot; explains Tom.&quot;Sadly I couldn&#39;t fit the singing moose in but I did manage to persuade Harry to ride a bucking bronco and Bill to dress as a cowboy. Things did get a little strange for Bill as we pulled out two bar stools onto the high street pavement and asked him to pretend to ride through the Arizona plains whilst being eyed by Corrie enthusiasts. To his credit he didn&#39;t grumble. Bravo Bill. He acted the part so well we are thinking about the possibility of Ken! Harry Hill launches into the world of pop and unleashes this tale of chaviness with a suitably cheeky promo from Tom King. 
"It's by far the most ridiculous and enjoyable shoot I've been involved with" explains King. "Harry was a real pleasure to work with and we discovered a fantastic new star in Sharon Rooney who plays the lead. If only all videos could be this much fun!"

Steve Glashier's brave promo for Above &amp; Beyond's next single On A Good Day was shot in Detroit. "The concept was to document a community in the now impoverished city and in doing so give something back in the process" explains Glashier.
"Thus the community garden project was born. Taking inspiration from the work of local pioneers who had only recently set up their own urban farms and community garden projects we set about buying a plot of land and transforming it over the course of one day into a garden open to all.
"Most of the budget was spent on the creation of the garden while the style of the promo itself was to evoke the feel of TV challenge shows or similar reality programs yet present it in a slicker way. The video brought together local volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds to get the project completed and at the end of the event the ownership of the garden was handed over to the community itself".

Following completion of his debut feature <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watchv=ZRE9Zzu655s" target="_blank">Shank</a>, M.A. returns to music videos with this summery and quintessentially English clip for Caspa &amp; Mr Hudson's Love Never Dies.
"The whole concept for me was to create a hyper-nostalgic cinematic video that connects to the viewer's inner youth and I really do believe we've archived something profound in its delivery," says M.A.
"Set In a park, the promo shows the emotional story of a group of children (who later turn into teenagers) and the human connections they have with each other.
"We had a huge number of narrative set ups to cover in a space of eight hours and also due to the budget, we couldn't really get an AD in so I just got on with it and did it myself, which is always fun. Thanks to a great production team and a wonderfully talented cast who took on my direction really well on set, we managed to finish it an hour before schedule."

The second single from Scouting For Girls' album Everybody Wants To Be On TV and the follow-up to the No 1 This Ain't A Love Song, finds the trio working with Nicholas Bentley on this retro romp. 
With a big job on the art department side, Bentley creates an authentic 80s look including VHS's, big remote controls and a huge wall of retro TV's in which the band appear alongside James Dean and other famous wannabes.

Scouting For Girls’ Famous by Nicholas Bentley

The recent news from Iceland make Ace Norton's promo for Felix Caral's synth-rocking Volcano strangely topical. 
"Where in the world is Dan Rather Growing up, my family would put on the CBS evening news every single night while we ate dinner" explains Ace. "When CBS fired him, I didn't realize how comforting his voice was until it wasn't there. With all this coverage about the volcano in Iceland, it only seemed right to give the man one last broadcast.
"The video was a real family affair - we shot it on a shoestring budget and pulled favours from friends and family. Chuck Church, my neighbour doubled as both set PA and as the actor in the Hawaiian Tshirt. Brad Golden, my writing partner, played the guy with the clunky oversized glasses. All the singing lips are actually mine because I was the only person who knew the lyrics to the song... "
