Lucy Luscombe&#39;s&nbsp;new video for New Zealand band Tiny Ruins&#39; Carriages shows exactly&nbsp;why she&#39;s regarded as a young British director of rich promise. It&#39;s&nbsp;a&nbsp;piercing&nbsp;drama about British malehood and inter-generational rivalry, in the setting of a group of blokes out on a serious bender.Ian Harte gives a brilliant&nbsp;performance as the patriarchal leader of the gang,&nbsp;initiating a young, son-like individual&nbsp;played by Nico Mirallegro into his boozed-up fun and games - but also feeling threatened by him. The simmering tensions between the two are utterly believeable, and the dynamic of other relationships within the group also&nbsp;laser-sharp.&nbsp;Something bad is going to happen, but when it finally does the director still doesn&#39;t overplay it. Very impressive indeed.&nbsp;

Following his monster reworking of the guitar groove from INXS' <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2010/03/09/professor-green's-need-you-tonight-by-henry-scholfield/" target="_blank">Need You Tonight</a>, Professor Green turns his attention to the timeless SOS Band classic and ropes in Lily Allen to help out on vocals. 
And once again Henry Scholfield skilfully augments the whole cheeky chappie vibe with this fun, slick studio-set pop romp. Surrounded by hot women and Lily looking stunning as per, the Prof is in his element.

Aggro’s Culo by Jonnie Malachi

Phil Griffin, former ultra-prolific purveyor of the British Pop Vid, makes his big break- through into Rock, with Kings of Leon.
Walls do indeed come tumbling down. Phil shot the band in Nashville, then added the scorching VFX at Rushes back in London.
The Rushes team led by Leo Weston comped the band in front of an exploding wall, then added fire, explosions, debris, bricks, and lighting effects. Simone Grattarola graded it, and he says, "This was a really exciting project to work on... I think people will be - excuse the pun - blown away by it."

And that's Jenny Saville's painting Stare behind the band, which features on the cover of the new album - but was considered unsuitable, and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watchv=s-9UOD7IhI8&amp;NR=1">effectively banned</a> by UK supermarkets. Which is possibly why I didn't see it in Tesco's yesterday whilst purchasing my weekly copy of Nuts.
