Joel Kefali makes the most of James Murphy&#39;s distinctive thinking-man&#39;s take on dance music in the video for LCD Soundsystem&#39;s tonite.This is a performance&nbsp;that looks like it was shot for a late night German TV show in the early 80s, with the band on a rotating pedestal surrounded by lights. But Murphy roams freely, with his mic attached to a mobile recorder,&nbsp;addressing the camera directly and encapsulating the conversational, almost stream of consciousness style that he brings to his lyrics.&nbsp;

The prisoner&#39;s girlfriend, the&nbsp;transvestite man mopping up his flooded apartment, the older gentleman in the jacuzzi, the lady at the drive-in movie, the girl consoling her friend... whatever&nbsp;the vignette, there is something just out of shot getting their rapt attention.&nbsp;&nbsp;In Joel Kefali&#39;s cool and drily witty video for Leisure&#39;s Got It Bad, the&nbsp;camera continually moves, wiping across each scene, inviting the viewer to absorb the moment,&nbsp;then moving into&nbsp;the next portrait. Each character is skilfully sketched - we&#39;ll just never know&nbsp;what&#39;s distracting them.

Cult New Zealand&nbsp;band Die! Die! Die! have continued their collaboration with film-maker and artist Dylan Pharazyn to create the video for their new release (I Love How You) Listen To The Radio.The video is a surreal portrayal of loss and regret, says director Pharazyn, and he&#39;s certainly right. Twins spitting pink liquid, the fury of a man throwing flour from the back of his van, bodies of water... oh, and an actual breakup.It&#39;s all shot in gorgeous, crisp slow motion with incredible colours and a deft use of natural light. It certainly feels like it wouldn&#39;t be out of place as an istallation piece in a gallery. Hypnotic stuff.

Die!&#39;s Out Of Mind, two friends explore the outskirts of a desolate,&nbsp;middle-of-nowhere New Zealand town, as last night&#39;s drugs begin to wear off. And then we start to realise that things are not quite what they seem.It&#39;s an atmospheric, unsettling piece from the Auckland-based director, who has also directed videos for She&#39;s So Rad, SJD and Dimmer,&nbsp;and building up an impressive body of work in the process.&nbsp;
