Being both super-cool and completely grounded is not easy but Oscar Boyson hits the sweet spot in his video for the returning Phoenix, plus Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, for Tonight.Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars and the rest of the band are in Paris, of course, while Koenig is hanging out in Tokyo. The screen is split throughout to accommodate footage from both cities, including performances from the artists. It's smoothly cosmopolitan, with simple visual tricks bringing the two elements together, and the cinematography by DoP Zack Spiger is marvellous.The way its made also gives the sense of work being done, and the song actually being created. It's artful but it also feels authentic.

And the&nbsp;haunting silicone mask the lead character wears jumps right into the uncanny valley, and makes for an uncomfortable viewing experience in the best way.&nbsp;Like every Muse video, there is an important message bubbling under the surface, this time focused on standing up against bullies and oppressors. Filmed in Ukraine - producers MrMr teamed up with Shelter in Kiev for the production of the video - the concept perfectly encapsulates these themes.

Hector Dockrill directs an imposing promo for Tendai's Not Around.&nbsp;The video opens on a city rooftop at night, as the skyline unravels behind the artist, and a palpable sense of danger lingers in the air.&nbsp;Cutting inside an apartment block, we see Tendai perform the track in a series of gritty vignettes, all shot in high contrast black and white.&nbsp;The final third of the visual - that was filmed on location in Kiev -&nbsp;is an impressive feat. As the artist steps out onto a balcony, the camera backs away to hang suspended in mid-air above&nbsp;him. Then it&nbsp;pans back across to the skyline, revealing a post-apocalyptic scene which signals the end of humanity.&nbsp;

Following his award-winning video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/03/23/aigel-youre-born-andzej-gavriss/63910" target="_blank">Aigel's You're Born</a>, and the experimental short Malaria, Latvian director Andzej Gavriss's latest project is a big step forward into cinematic narrative -&nbsp;a&nbsp;dark, boldly imagined story of a damaged rock singer, on a rehab program like no other.Filmed in Ukraine, and co-produced by 2332 Films,&nbsp;Eleusis is a tremendously atmospheric fantasy-thriller, where the catatonic pop singer Ivan is delivered into the custody of a mysterious sanitorium which guarantees the creative rejuvenation of its patients - but at a terrible cost.The rock star (Ivan Dorn) must suffer ordeals at the hands of the Nurse Cratchet-like mystic (played by Natalia Kara) who leads a coven of maidens to send him into delirium, and make him suffer nightmarish dreams - all made breathlessly plausible by the mesmerizing quality of the production.&nbsp;With both an extraordinarily grand&nbsp;location and excellent cast - including&nbsp;the Ostapenko brothers, three identical triplets who play the sanatorium's security detail - Gavriss builds his story on a movie-like scale, ably assisted by a talented team including production designer Julija Fricsone Gavriss and cinematographer Jacob Moller, to its harrowing climax.Eleusis is over twenty minutes in length, and it is a riveting watch from first to last.&nbsp;And surely&nbsp;it is the calling card to ensure that Gavriss's future lies in feature films.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2][imgtoken data:3]&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Taz Tron Delix guides&nbsp;us through&nbsp;a surreal and hallucinatory trip with no escape&nbsp;in the new video for CamelPhat, featuring Jem Cooke.&nbsp;Following the high octane visual for Stormzy's Audacity, Delix has swapped out the 18-wheelers and stunts for a neon-lit fever dream, reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, with increasingly erotic overtones.&nbsp;We are introduced to an oblivious, wide-eyed Alice as she explores a disturbing underground world, where the line between reality and fantasy has been irreparably blurred. The visions could be a hypnotic dream or an enticing nightmare, and the only way&nbsp;she can truly escape is by embracing her dark side and letting her desires overwhelm her.Pulling from Delix's cinematic inspirations, there are further references to other classic films, including Peter Weir’s The Truman Show and&nbsp;Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.&nbsp;"The idea behind the film was to take our audience on a deep inward journey into another dimension and alternate spaces, highlighting the emotional journey as a result," he says. And that's exactly what it achieves.

From 2332 Films in&nbsp;Kiev, Dasha Deriagina&nbsp;has become so highly regarded for her work on UK-commissioned&nbsp;music&nbsp;videos that&nbsp;she has been nominated for the Best Producer award at the UKMVAs for the past two years.Born and raised in the Ukrainian capital, she's a&nbsp;27 year old graduate of Chinese Language and Literature and Translation, who lived and worked in Hong Kong and mainland China for over two years before returning to work in film production in her hometown.At that point Kiev was ramping up its reputation as a place for outstanding, cost-effective service production, and it's been non-stop for Dasha ever since. In the past three years she has worked with the cream of the new generation of music video directors, including Matilda Finn, Zhang &amp; Knight,&nbsp;Joao Retorta, Savannah Setten, and Taz Tron Delix - and British producers, as Head of Music at 2332.2019 has been busier than ever.&nbsp;So how is her work-life balance looking?&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;WORK:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Promonews: How long have you been in your current position, how did you get the job? Dasha: I’ve held&nbsp;the position of Head of Music at 2332 Films in Kyiv, Ukraine for the last three years. Before that, I was a producer’s assistant. My attitude brought me to where I am now - and hopefully will move me on further.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What was your first job in the industry? The first job I produced was with Zhang+Knight and Katie Lambert. The music video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/11/04/noga-erez-dance-while-you-shoot-zhang-and-knight/44458" target="_blank">Noga Erez's Dance While You Shoot</a>. This is where my story begins...[vidtoken data:0]&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Which projects have been most significant for you in terms of gaining experience and helping your career? In the last three years I’ve done 35 videos,&nbsp;and each job inspired me to achieve next level of producing. I would say every single job gives you an unforgettable experience. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;What was the hardest job you’ve had? The greater the difficulties you faced, the greater your determination to overcome them. But the hardest? That's all the jobs which had a shoot day of up to 18 shooting hours.<blockquote>My attitude brought me to where I am now - and hopefully will move me on further.&nbsp;&nbsp;</blockquote>What are your favourite music video-related jobs of the past year or so, and why? It’s&nbsp;difficult to extract favourites, because I love all the jobs we’ve done. However there are few that were very unique:<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/02/26/prospa-prayer-jo%C3%A3o-retorta/57497" target="_blank">Prospa 'Prayer'</a>&nbsp;- that&nbsp;was definitely a very special project. Directed by Joao Retorta and produced in collaboration with Nick Hayes and Bullion. It was a real '90's rave&nbsp;in the hidden half-abandoned children camp. We’ve spent 20 hours on set, and all that time the air was marked by a spirit of pure sound, pure dance, pure revolution, pure love.[vidtoken data:1]<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/03/20/kojey-radical-25-taz-tron-delix/57839" target="_blank">Kojey Radical ft KZ '25'</a>&nbsp;- that's all about adorable style and the very special director’s vision of Taz Tron Delix. Produced together with Kiran Mandla and Compulsory. I’m a big fan of these guys, and every time we work together I know the result is bound to succeed. The whole project was done in an Ukrainian prison, with the inmates cast. No actors, no schedule, no budget.We spent three long days in the middle of nowhere surrounded by prisoners, and got a phenomenal practical knowledge. I can talk about this project for hours and hours. But just to sum things up I want to share gratitude with people who made the dreams come true - Alexey Savelov, Alexander Timkov, Viktor Shava, and the real gangs.[vidtoken data:3]<blockquote>Slenderbodies' Arrival was the most emotional experience and biggest challenge we’ve ever had.</blockquote>What are your favourite other jobs of the past year or so? The project with Amber Millington and Black Dog Films for Oasis [the drink] was a great experience. The Oasis job was enjoyable, first of all, because we made it together with amazing crew, Amber and guys from Black Dog. And I have to admit that Amber Millington is my best mentor producer. I'm grateful to her for all the knowledge&nbsp;and experience she shares. I hope we will make another crazy thing&nbsp;together soon!Also, the tasks and goals were super interesting. My crew and I&nbsp;really like to face some challenges and find the solutions. This time, it was a room flooded with the Oasis drink - sounds exciting, doesn't it?[vidtoken data:4] &nbsp;Also, I really like the short movie (commercial) for Samsonite, directed by Ali Kurr.
